hi guys:)
it's thomas from switzerland. is anyone currently cycling in the balkans (croatia, bosnia, montenegro, albania, ...)?
i'm cycling towards east - the pamir is the final destination. for the last ten days the dogs have been scaring me too much.
i love to cycle solo, but now i would really appreciate to have some company for a couple of days to gain confidence in dealing with them.
at the moment i'm in montenegro and would love to move on to istanbul via albania, macedonia, bulgaria.
is there anyone nearby and would be happy to fight the dogs togehter? :)

Hi Thomas, I was in the Balkans last year and saw many dogs, this was my strategy,
Slow down to walking speed or even get off your bike, ( Don't try and speed up unless your going down hill l get yourself a whipping stick about a meter long and swish it in the air or hit your rear panier with it, dogs really don't like this noise.
Alternatively get off your bike and pick up a stone, either throw it or just pretend to throw it.
Hope this helps and don't let them get you down!
Hi Again, forgot to say, I plan to carry on my journey soon, picking up from last year and heading east towards the Pamir,, when will you be in Turkey?
